Is Big Adventure Entertainment locally owned and operated here in Oregon?
Yes it is, proudly, since it's inception in 2004.
How long have you been a DJ? I have been a DJ since 1982. My experience includes twenty years as an FCC licensed radio DJ, a Co-Producer of the first Afropop Series on NPR, an award winning radio sound designer, a private party and school dance DJ and a designer of sound for several live theater productions. I have also served as a master of ceremonies (MC) for a number of private functions as well as a chief announcer in radio. I have been a mobile DJ since May of 2004.
For what type of events do you provide music? I provide music for wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, reunions, anniversaries, theme parties, school functions, dances, birthday parties, corporate events, grand openings and any other event where quality dance or background music is desired in Oregon & Southern Washington state.
How far in advance should I book your service? If you have a definite date in mind, then the quicker you contact me, the sooner I can start working for you. It is not uncommon to book a year in advance.
Do you provide a written agreement? Absolutely, it is very important to confirm your booking in writing. Terms will be clearly defined in a standard performer’s contract. No matter who your vender may be, always have a contract with them.
Are you insured? Yes, we are insured through WEDJ.
I am in a hurry. Can last minute arrangements be made?! Don't get discouraged if you're in a bind and looking for a mobile music service in a rush! It is always worth giving us a phone call to see if your date is available. I may be able to help you even if it’s this weekend or TONIGHT!
Are there any hidden costs? We are upfront and honest about all prices and fees. We do not charge for setup or breakdown of our equipment.
Do you take requests and discuss music ahead of time? Yes. A versatile disc jockey is willing to listen to your suggestions, give you feedback and play from your desired song list.
Can I come to a performance to see a disc jockey in action? It's not unheard of, however, since no one event is alike it would be a different arrangement of the details and how I interact with the clients and guests than your event. From time to time we do perform at public functions which you may easily attend.
Do you have backup equipment and DJ's? Though it is unlikely to happen, it is possible for the professional audio equipment I use to fail. I always bring backup equipment as a precaution, and a back-up DJ is always available should an emergency or illness occur.
How will you dress for my event? I dress appropriately for your event. Formal, semi-formal, casual or themed attire will be worn according to your preference.
What type of equipment do you use? I use only professional grade equipment, ensuring that you receive the best possible sound and lighting show available for your event. We boast high-grade equipment such as Mackie, Numark, Gemini, Nady, AKG, Creative Labs, American DJ and Chauvet are utilized within the course of our events.
Do you accept gratuities? Gratuities are not expected, however, if you find that we have exceeded your expectations, we would greatly appreciate your referral to friends and family.
